Do you need a tour at all?
You can visit Iguazu Falls on your own. The Brazilian ticket includes the park transport and the trails. The Argentine entry includes the jungle train and the main trails. A day trip is not a requirement for any of that, and a paid tour usually adds something specific: a boat ride, a jungle drive, a guide, a transfer or a visit to a sight outside the parks.
Most paid extras are sold separately from the park ticket. Before you compare prices, check what each offer includes: the park ticket, pickup, border formalities and the boat. No fixed price for a complete agency tour is published, so use the operator prices below as a yardstick.

The boat and jungle rides
The two rides that put you on the river.
Gran Aventura (Argentine side)
An open off-road vehicle takes you through the jungle, then a motorboat goes up to the falls and returns to the start. Allow about 2 hours. You must be 12 or older and show the original passport or ID at boarding, not a copy or a phone photo. The operator excludes pregnant visitors and lists several health limitations, including type 1 diabetes, so read its rules first. Rides run daily depending on the river and the weather, and rain alone is not a reason to cancel.
Macuco Safari (Brazilian side)
The ride takes about 2 hours, 25 to 30 minutes of it on the boat. The jungle drive alone costs 192 BRL. Children up to 6 ride free according to the tariff page, but the half-price categories are tied to Brazilian residency or Brazilian student cards, so foreign families should check before they count on a discount. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays and from 8:30 am on weekends.
Check the river first
Boats depend on the river being safe to navigate. High water has already closed walkways on both sides in 2026, so ask the operator about your date and keep your plan flexible.

What is already in your park ticket
On the Argentine side, entry covers the Ecological Jungle Train and the main trails. Pick up the free train ticket at the distribution points in the park. On the Brazilian side, entry covers the transport between the visitor center and the panorama trail, about 7.5 miles (12 km), plus the elevators and the walkway.
That is why a guided day trip is a convenience, not a necessity. It makes sense if you want a guide, a pickup at your hotel or a package that handles the border for you. The tickets page lists the park prices for both sides.
Evening walks on the Argentine side
Full moon and sunset programs.
The operator on the Argentine side publishes a Full Moon program (Luna Llena) and a Sunset program (Atardecer). Each costs 95,000 ARS for adults and 47,500 ARS for children aged 6 to 12. Children up to 5 are free, and places are limited. Because the Devil's Throat walkways were removed in August 2026, ask the operator whether your date runs and what route it takes. The Devil's Throat page explains the current status.
Tours beyond the falls
Other sights near the falls, each with its own ticket.

Parque das Aves
A self-guided walk of about 2 km (1.2 mi) through six walk-in aviaries. Adults pay 110 BRL until November 30, 2026.

Itaipú Dam
The Brazilian Panorâmica costs 63 BRL and lasts about 1 hour 10 minutes. The inside visit, Itaipu Especial, costs 185 BRL.

Triple border and wildlife center
A viewpoint over the meeting of two rivers, plus Güira Oga at 35,000 ARS for adults.

Marco das Três Fronteiras
A border landmark on the Brazilian side. Visitors aged 12 and over pay 60 BRL.
Both sides in one day
Possible on paper, tight in practice.
No dependable schedule with guaranteed border waiting times is published, so treat a two-park day as a plan you adjust on the spot. Each park needs its own ticket, and the Brazilian ticket is for a chosen day and time. If you only have one day, choose a single park and do it properly. The Argentine side and the Brazilian side pages show what each visit involves.

Park tickets
Are they included in the price, and for which side?
Pickup and return

Border and boat
Who handles the crossing, and does the boat ride come with a refund if the river is closed?
Iguazu Falls tours: frequently asked questions
Do I need a tour to see Iguazu Falls?
No. Both parks can be visited on your own, with transport and trails included in the park ticket. A tour adds a guide, a ride or a transfer.
Is the park entrance included in the boat tours?
No. Gran Aventura and Macuco Safari each exclude the national park entry, so you pay it separately.
Which boat ride is better, Argentina or Brazil?
They differ in price, length and age rules rather than in quality. Gran Aventura costs 100,000 ARS and takes about 2 hours. Macuco Safari costs 384 BRL and takes about 2 hours, with 25 to 30 minutes on the boat. Pick the side where you already plan to spend your park day.
Can children go on the boat?
Gran Aventura requires a minimum age of 12. Macuco Safari states no general age limit for the safari and jungle drive, and minors must travel with a responsible adult.
Can I do both sides in one day?
You can try, but no timetable guarantees it. Plan for the border crossing as its own block of time and expect to give up some trails.
