Parque das Aves at a glance

Parque das Aves is a bird park in Foz do Iguaçu, on Avenida das Cataratas, next to the entrance of the Brazilian national park. It is a separate attraction with its own ticket. Your falls ticket does not cover it, and the bird park ticket does not cover the falls.

Visitors follow a self-guided paved route of about 2,000 m (1.2 mi) with six walk-through aviaries. Birds are not to be touched. The operator gives an average visit time of about 3 hours and a minimum of about 1 hour. The prices below are valid until 30 November 2026.

Half price: who qualifies

Foreign visitors do not get a general senior or student discount.

Brazilian students

Brazilian school and university students pay half price with proof that matches their age group.

Brazilians aged 60 and over

Brazilian seniors from 60 pay half price. This is tied to the Brazilian category, so a foreign senior card does not qualify by itself.

People with a disability

People with a disability pay half price with valid proof. Follow the operator's list for the exact documents.

Everyone else

If you are not in a listed category, expect the full 110 BRL. Do not count on a discount at the gate without the right paperwork.

The route and how long to stay

The route is a single paved path. Allow about 3 hours if you like to stop at each aviary, and about 1 hour if you only want a quick loop. Bring water and a hat, and wear shoes that are fine on wet pavement.

The operator publishes a guide for rainy days, so a wet forecast need not cancel the visit. Opening time is 8:30 am. Closing time is listed between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm depending on the page and the date, so check the current hours before you go and plan to arrive in the morning rather than late in the afternoon.

Before you go

A few small things save time at the gate. Bring photo ID for every adult, and an ID or a birth certificate for each child, because the free entry for children up to 8 is checked against a document. If you plan to use a half-price category, carry the proof that the operator lists for it. Decide in advance whether you need a locker or a stroller, since both are extra and priced per item.

The route is self-guided, so you set the pace. There is no fixed tour time to catch inside the park. If you travel with young children, the free entry up to age 8 makes the bird park one of the cheaper stops on the Brazilian side, and the paved path suits a stroller, which you can rent for 30 BRL.

Combining the bird park with the falls

The bird park is on the same road as the national park, at km 17.1 of Avenida das Cataratas, so the two fit together on one day. The falls ticket has a fixed entry time, so book the falls first and plan the bird park around it. A common plan is the falls in the morning and the bird park afterward, or the other way round if your falls slot is in the afternoon.

Private cars cannot drive into the Brazilian park, but the bird park has its own parking lot. If you arrive by bus or tour, you do not need to pay for parking. Several tours include the bird park entry and a hotel pickup in Foz do Iguaçu, but not a guide. Check what a tour covers before you book.

For the rest of the day, read the Brazilian side guide for the panorama walk, the Foz do Iguaçu guide for other sights, and the Itaipú guide if you want to add the dam.
